Through use, the wood forms a thin layer of carbon, which acts as an isolator and prevents further burning. During the first sessions, there will be a slight burning smell as the carbonization begins. The vapman basic is now with the same surface as the classic, so ground oiled and high-pulled.

Handling is also very simple, just point the blue tip of the flame at the golden tip of the pan - heat up briefly - then inhale & repeat as often as necessary until the herbs are vaporized.
